Visa
Visa-free privileges are afforded to passport holders of U.S.A., France, Spain and Australia if the passports or travel documents are valid for more than 3 months. Please visit the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Regulation of Visa-Exempt Entry and Landing Visas for Foreigners. Holders of People's Republic of China passport are required to have a special entry permit upon entering Taiwan which has a lengthy application duration (2 to 3 months). Currency
The New Taiwan Dollar (NT$) is the currency used in Taiwan. Foreign currency exchange is available at banks and international hotels. Some banks at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport operate 24 hours. The exchange rate changes everyday, please consult the services in the Bank of Taiwan to get the detailed exchange rate. Certain hotels in Taiwan also provide exchange services. However, visitors are strongly advised to exchange local currency before departure or at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Credit cards such as Visa, Master and American Express (usually with dditional fee) are commonly accepted in stores.

Voltage
Taiwan operates on 110V/60Hz electric current. 2-hole flat blades are most commonly used. Flat blades with round grounding pin can also be seen. Visitors are encouraged to bring voltage converters or transformers if necessary.

In case of Emergency, dial 110 or 119. You do not need to pay for the call.
