        I was born in Beijing, and grew up in Beijing. After receiving a bachelor degree in Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1982, receiving a master degree in mathematics from Institute of Systems Science of Academia Sinica (Beijing) in 1984, I came to U.S.A. in 1984 and received a Ph. D. from Courant Institute in 1988. I was two years in Princeton University as an instructor and then have been at Rutgers University.
