國家理論科學研究中心學術演講
NCTS Seminar in Algebraic Geometry

 (1)

  Speaker :      Prof.Jiun-Cheng CHEN 陳俊成

            (Northwestern University, USA)

  Time      :       December 29 (Wed.)  12:45 - 14:00

Title       :       Fano threefold hypersurface after Corti, Puklikov and Reid

  Abstract:

Smooth fano threefolds are well-known in birational geometry. Singular

Fano threefold are less well-understood. The techinques are much more

complicated. I will report on Corti, Puklikov and Reid'w work on Fano

threefold hyperface, and try to explain the difficulities involved in this

  subject.

Basically, this will be a continuation of my talk in NCTS this summer.

However, I will not assume the audience has attended the previous talk:

I will give a necessary review on the relevent terminologies (about 15-20

minutes), and proceed to a more detailed proof.

Speaker  :     Prof. Y.-P. LEE 李元斌 (University of Utah)

  Time       :     December 29 (Wed.)  14:15 - 15:15

Title        :     Relative Gromov-Witten theory and moduli of curves (I)
  Abstract :

The goal of this series of talks is to explain some applications of the

relative Gromov-Witten theory to the study of moduli of curves, after

  Faber-Pandharipande and Graber-Vakil.

  Speaker  :     Hsian-Hua TSENG 曾祥華

                      (University of California at Berkeley)
  Time       :     December 29 (Wed.)  15:30-17:00

Title        :     Twisted Orbifold Gromov-Witten Invariants
  Abstract :

For a Deligne-Mumford stack, we will introduce its orbifold

Gromov-Witten invariants twisted by a vector bundle and a characteristic

class. We will explain a formula expressing a generating function of these

twisted invariants in terms of the usual Gromov-Witten invariants, along

with some applications. If time permitted, we will discuss its proof.
