Topic     :        Studies in Microarray Data (II)

 Abstract :
Microarray plays an important role in life science for the past decade. It studies the cell mRNA expression which is an intermediate stage between genotype and phenotype. It also reveals the intra-cellar activities during any particular stage of biological development, including abnormal development such as cancer. Due to large subject, temporal and experimental variations, the interpretation of microarray results is far from clear-cut.
Statistics has become an indispensable tool to make microarray decisions reliable. The first talk of this series will be on the experimental procedure, its biological meaning, the source of variation and data-editing. The second talk is on statistical methods including multiple decisions, classification and clustering. The main references are: R. M. Simon, et al.
